Scott Hargus started Music Teachers Network in 2004 after 10 years of successful in home teaching of both guitar and Bass Guitar and around the Easton, Trumbull, Monroe, and Shelton areas. The company was started after realizing that parents were overwhelmed by all the activities that their kids had to be "carted" to each week. It seemed the convenient in home lessons that he was providing were a "blessing". As one grateful parent put it, "You're a great teacher AND we don't have to waste our time and gas driving to the place (local music store) only to have to wait in a packed waiting room for another hour!" And so, Music Teachers Network was born. Since 2004 M.T.N. has helped over 900 hundred students reach their personal musical goals at home. In addition, we have developed something NO other company has, in home lessons with all the benefits of a physical building music store. Scott has grown Music Teachers Network into the company he imagined back in 2004. His schedule is usually jam packed with guitar and bass students, but he hand picks only like-minded teachers.
